Introduction to Meditation with René David Alkalay
Meditation
is a core practice, often the fundamental practice of nearly every
spiritual tradition for experiencing deeper levels of consciousness
and awareness.
In this class we will draw from Yogic, Buddhist, and
Kabbalistic traditions to explore various meditative techniques.
We will also discuss current scientific models of the mind to draw
upon contemplative tradition. Topics covered in this workshop: Buddha’s
Paradigm,
The Universe of Discourse of Meditation, Benefits of Meditation,
Aspects of Ritual, The Importance of Intent, Yantra and Mantra, The
Science of Breath, Practical Aspects, Meditation in Motion.
Besides
lecture and practice, there will be ample opportunity for open discussion
and practicum. You will leave this class equipped to engage in a
personal practice of meditation, ready to enjoy the enhanced mental
clarity, balance and equanimity this will bring into your life.
This course may
be used for yoga Teacher’s Training credits.

An Evening of Experiential Kabbalah
This evening promises to be a fascinating and vibrationally uplifting portal into the mystical, magical and paradoxical nature of the Kabbalah.
Joseph-Mark will serve up an elaborately woven mid-eastern buffet of concentrated appetizers: kabbalistic astrology perspectives for 5768 to 5773 (2012), the Gematria Code, Abulafian vowel harmonic chanting, a merkavah meditation and a genesis prayer, plus a humor-filled story or two for dessert excerpted from his inner adventure travel novel: The Unicorn Messiah.

Introduction to Kabbalah
